A concert for Sendong victims

JCI Philippines Area IV with the Cebu City Government, McDonald's, KBP and the Cebu Association on City and Municipal Public Information Officers (CACMPIO) join hands for the benefit of CdO, Iligan and Negros

From left: Atty. Ruphil Bañoc, chairman of the Kapisanan ng mga Brodkaster sa Pilipinas (KBP) - Cebu; Emi Rose Parcon, Junior Chamber International (JCI) Visayas Area Secretary and ABAG steering committee chair; and Constantine Yu, JCI Philippines - Visayas Area Vice President.

McDONALD's JONES, CEBU CITY (22 December 2011) - On Saturday, Dec. 24, 1-8 PM, a concert for a cause participated in by (so far) at least 30 Cebu bands who will entertain donors who are expected to troop to Fuente Osmeña following a radiothon by all KBP-Cebu member FM and AM stations from Friday at 7:30 AM when a pooled broadcast is conducted with the campaign (on-air-plugs and live calls by anchormen and DJ's) running until the concert will end.

Cebuanos will be urged to troop to Fuente Osmeña circle with their donations in 4 additional tents that will be set up around the oval, plus one at McDonald's Jones. As they bring in their donations, they will also be treated to non-stop entertainment by live band performances with loud speakers facing every receiving tent other than those facing the audience within the oval.

Other organizations involved whose leaders are not shown in photo but who attended the coordination meeting at noon today at McDonald's Jones are: Cebu Artists and Musicians, Movement for a Livable Cebu, Council of the Laity, Knights of Columbus, Council of Student Governments, Cebu Bloggers Society, Communicators Group, and Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Supporting this private sector initiative are: Office of Cebu City Mayor Michael L. Rama, Department of Social Welfare and Services, CITOM, CCPO, and BFP Rescue who will deploy personnel for assistance, documentation, traffic management, security and emergency response.

This as more organizations are expected to join the event as more support is being pledged.
