Global Impact through Local Action National Chairman releases National Public Speaking Competition Guidelines 2007 President Angelo Daniel R. Parcon of JCI Cebu-Mactan Channel recently released the guidelines for the National Public Speaking Competitions for the upcoming simultaneous five (5) Area Conferences in the Philippines this coming Sept. 4-6, 2009. Parcon, the 2009 National Chairman for the said competitions aims to draw the support of members in JCI Philippines to send their contestants to this prestigious event which produced prominent winners in the JCI Asia Pacific Conferences such as Ma. Concepcion Hernandez of JCI Lipa, Jonas Ang of JCI Manila and Jose Mari Benedicto of JCI Cebu.
The JCI Philippines Public Speaking Championship offers members a unique opportunity to exercise and showcase their abilities and to share ideas on issues of particular importance to fellow members. A speech competition requires a special kind of public speaking, challenging participants to express creative ideas in a clear and captivating manner. Every well-prepared speech should have an introduction that captures the attention of the audience, a body featuring the speaker’s message, and a powerful conclusion summarizing the speaker’s arguments.
The competition is intended to give the finest speakers an opportunity to compete for greater recognition and challenge. Area Conference winners represent their respective areas to the National contest. In turn, National contest winners are encouraged to compete at the JCI Conferences. The winner from each JCI Conference is then expected to represent his or her Area in the final round of the JCI World Public Speaking Championship at the JCI World Congress to be held in Hammamet, Tunis on November 16 – 21, 2009.
