Junior Chamber International Cebu-Mactan Channel recently held its JCI C-MC Recruitment Program Finding NeMO! (New Members' Orientation) last May 9, 2008 at the Coffee Dream Shop in Kia Motors, Gorordo Ave., Kamputhaw, Cebu City.
Accomplishing the task as Trainer was 2007 Cebu NatCon PRIME Graduate and Chapter Training Force stalwart Irish Rago. Utilizing the skills and experience of the JCI Cebu-Mactan Channel Training Force, the chapter packaged the JCI New Members Orientation into the Finding NeMO Program, an experience-rich and informative session for those who have been invited to join the JCI movement. A total of six (6) new prospective members attended the orientation which was also strongly supported by the 2008 Board of Directors led by 2008 President Jolex Yu Lim, PG. Ian Narvaez, Sham² Narvaez, Joni Ocular, Ian Abella, Romel Narvaez and Louie Rago all embarked on their first steps into the Junior Chamber International organization, all with determination and an unmatched passion to develop themselves, both as persons and as professionals as well. Aptly christened by 2007 President JCI Mem. Angelo Daniel Parcon, the Finding NeMO program takes the Opportunity to Succeed Program, now known as the New Members Orientation Program to a higher level. Equipped with a battery of trainers led by National Graduate / Certified National Trainer JCI Mem. Cerwin Eviota and Certified National Trainer JCI Mem. Lorelei Dasmariñas, the Chapter Training Force (CTF) regularly conducts brainstorming activities that would further enhance the newcomer's learning experience during a Finding NeMO seminar. Ensuring that a free-flowing discussion between the Trainer and the participants, the Finding NeMO series opens up the initial communication lines between JCI and the prospect via the seminar. An extensive use of multi-media aids aims to capture the interest of the prospect while the Trainer introduces them to the world of Jayceeism. Compared to the Coffee Conversations Program which is a personalized one-on-one coffee table orientation, the Finding NeMO seminar is packaged to suffice the orientation needs of more than 10 participants. The program is part of the chapter's winning entry to the Most Outstanding Membership Recruitment Program during the 27th Visayas Area Conference last September 2007 at Catbalogan City. Afterwards, JCI C-MC Commissioner for National Projects, Dennis T. Cabase, along with Individual Development Commissioner Ryan Andales, ASG Iris Vera Petralba, VP Programs Marlon Ariel Polinar, IPP Angelo Parcon and Lim accompanied the new prospects to a Fellowship session at the Fuss Bar at One Acacia Place.
