Charter President conducts orientation w/ President Eli CEBU CITY (28 Oct. 2010) -- The 2011 Administration of JCI Cebu-Mactan Channel now has an initial batch of 20 prospective members to nurture as it has started to manage the affairs of the chapter.This developed as the 17 guests who attended tonight the New Members Orientation (NeMO) have signified their intent to fulfill their respective desire to Be Better as a person, as a leader, and as an Active Citizen. 10-footer van shipped through Manila P7,000.00 cash raised used to buy canned goods FUENTE OSMEÑA, Cebu City (27 Oct. 2010) -- The JCI "PARA ni JUAN" Relief Campaign in Cebu generated since Oct. 23 donations enough to fill in a 10-footer container van and cash amounting to P7,000.00.
Local JCI chapters that collaborated in the drive closed the receiving drop-in center at Fuente Osmeña here, and used the cash donation to purchase a variety of canned goods. The local presidents sealed the container van at 6PM today and brought it to the Pier 3 yard of Gothong Southern Shipping Lines. The Gothong firm will have shipped the van by 8PM from the Port of Cebu to the Port of Manila, and will further transport it to the JCI Philippines Headquarters on Alejandro Roces Ave. in Quezon City for repacking.

Donations begin to pour in at Fuente KBP-Cebu Radiothon creates massive awareness 
PRESIDENTS UPFRONT: JCI Cebu-Mactan Channel 2011 President Eli T. Espina (center, above; left) documents donations that have begun to trickle in, while his JCI Metro Cebu Uptown counterpart Reeve Jumawan (above left) writes a receipt that specified the goods donated by the lady.
Both local JCI leaders braved the noontime heat at Fuente Osmeña to receive donations for the victims of Super Typhoon Juan (Megi) under a project JCI chapters in Cebu jointly collaborate. JCI Cebu-Mactan Channel members Cherryl Pada and Liezl Palicte opened the relief receiving center at 7AM, as KBP-Cebu began a day-long Radiothon calling on all Cebuanos to give their share. (BRIDGES)

'Help typhoon victims cope' - Rama Mayor with JCI, KBP leaders launches "Para ni Juan" CEBU CITY (Oct. 22, 2010 @ 1800H) -- Cebu City Mayor Michael L. Rama today urged residents of Cebu City and those in the province to give and help alleviate the plight of the victims of Category 5 Super Typhoon Juan (Megi) earlier this week. "Our Beloved Santo Niño de Cebu spared us from the wrath of the super typhoon. Let us be thankful by extending our blessings to those who now need to cope witrh their lives," Rama told the press at the conference room in his office today. The Mayor joined the local leaders of Junior Chamber International (JCI) in launching through media "PARA ni JUAN," Cebu's version of the JCI Philiipines national project "JUAN TEAM: Disaster Relief Operations, that JCI Cebu-Mactan Channel had arranged.

Chapter pursues 'PARA ni JUAN' drive, forges partnership w/ KBP-Cebu anew
JCI Metro Cebu Uptown organizes logistics CEBU CITY (Oct. 22, 2010) -- "PARA ni JUAN," a relief campaign for the victims of Category 5 Super Typhoon Juan (International Code Name: Megi) that hit the country last Oct. 18, is being worked out and will begin tomorrow, Saturday, Oct. 23, at Fuente Osmeña Circle, this city.
The initiative, pursued under "Project JUAN TEAM" of Junior Chamber International (JCI) Philippines in partnership with the Cebu City Government, will be launched in a press conference at 11AM today at the conference room of Cebu City Mayor Michael L. Rama (photo at right).
